/gquit…..when admitting that you’re wrong isn’t an option.

I hope some of my guildies that read my blog have already heard this, if not, then here you go. Late last night one of Emerald Dream’s bright individual decided to speak his mind. No, not the normal trolling that you get in trade chat, this was a guildie. One of FMB’s finest seemed to inform us of how he felt about the gays, but the only arguement was that they were disgusting. I was busy leveling my alt, so I only caught a little of it. I seem to remember him saying he was a pagan. No matter, here is the end result:

I know, I should waste my time talking about people like this, but this guy was just full of it.

In return for you reading, I have a small gift for you, that can be only one thing….

The Great Orgrimmar Raid of 3/20/2011

I am fairly certain that many of us on Emerald Dream saw this image a few times last night:

The reason for this is the raid upon our beloved Warchief that took place around 10PM last night. A group of what I have been told were 160 Members of the Alliance decided that they would rock Emerald Dream, and they sure did. On and off the server crashed and reset for a total of three times. This got all of our attentions when we turned from our normal routines to deal with the problem at hand. Will all of the Alliance players that were cramped into such a small place, along with the numerous city defense groups all in one place it is no wonder as to why the server crashed as it did. With each crash of the server, Hellscreams HP was reset to 100%, causing many disgrunteled Alliance raiders. Where was I in the fray? Well with the lack of the ability to do any damage other that to drop AoEs I was parked outside Grommash Hold leading a City Defense raid and typing into trade, “LFM City Defense Raid.” Due to the major lag I am surprised that any of the Alliance players managed to get any spells off at all. In the end it drew to a close with us wiping the raid, though I am fairly certain that the Alliance were so annoyed that they wanted it to end anyway. Nice try Allys, but as always FOR THE HORDE!

So what does this mean? Why weren’t the servers able to handle this? Shouldn’t Blizzard be prepared for this? I am sure many of you do not have any idea of the answers to these questions, just like me. we can only hope that we can get a response from Blizz as to why their servers cannot handle such an event. Hopefully we can prevent the Great Server Crash of 2011 from ever happening again in the future.

Here is a screenshot that I got from a member of the Alliance, maybe it can give you a picture of how cramped that room was:

Firelands Raid will not be in upcoming patch 4.1

Link to forum.

This is a blue post, made on the WoW forums, regarding the new raiding tier.

By now you’ve seen that the redesigned Heroic five-player dungeon versions of Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub are on the PTR, featuring all-new boss mechanics, updated epic-level loot, and some rare mounts for players to try to tame.

You may be asking, “where’s Firelands?”

Our goal with each major patch release, and especially with each expansion, is to learn from the past and use that knowledge to improve the game as we move forward. One of our biggest regrets in the pacing of Wrath of the Lich King was the Crusaders’ Coliseum. The Trial of the Champion 10- and 25-player raid was released while many raiders were still busy with Ulduar, which meant a premature end to Ulduar raiding — and a lot of players didn’t get a chance to experience all of Ulduar’s content during the normal expansion progression.

Having learned that lesson in pacing from Wrath of the Lich King, we don’t feel Cataclysm needs a new raid tier just yet. We’re close, though, and Firelands will be part of patch 4.2, which is expected to hit the PTR very soon after 4.1 goes live.

One of our long-standing development goals has been to release more regular content updates for you to enjoy. Our plan is to package features like raids, dungeons, and daily quest hubs into smaller content updates and release them as soon as possible, rather than wait and release them as large but infrequent updates. Our first significant step in this direction will be Cataclysm patch 4.1, and we hope the rest of our content updates moving forward follow this model.

This new flexible approach to updates allows us to release content like Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub so that you’ll have more challenges to overcome while we make the flames of Sulfuron even fierier and this second showdown with the Firelord even more climactic.

While we know that some raiders feel prepared to smack down the Firelord once again, releasing an epic raid dungeon before its time would, in the words of Ragnaros himself, be “too soon!”

What does this mean for me and you? Well, that really depends on how far into the Cata content you are. For those who are still running BoT, BH, ect. it is a relief. This way, they won’t be left behind. What about the others? Those who have already completed these raids will have to wait a few more months for some new content. This can either be a blessing or a curse, I will be waiting to see which.
